The Belt Insignia Recorder is a special device invented by Panthro. Unknown to anybody, Panthro had modified his ThunderCats Belt Insignia into a removable recording device. The Insignia is controlled by a small remote and it is capable of flying and recording any events. Then Panthro can easily play them back on the same Insignia Recorder. Panthro refers to it as "ingenuity".
When the Mutants and Mumm-Ra and drugged Tygra and locked Lion-O, Panthro and Cheetara inside Cats Lair, Panthro used the Insignia Recorder to spy on Mumm-Ra and the Mutants outside and discover their plans.
