Brodo is a human who was once a powerful sorcerer on Third Earth. Brodo only used his powers for good and this put him at loggerheads with the evil Mumm-Ra. Feeling threatened by the wizardry of Brodo, Mumm-Ra, in the guise of the Nether-Witch, tricked Brodo and banished him to the Astral World where he was imprisoned by Nemex for all eternity.
Many years later when Lion-O goes to rescue Jaga from the Astral Prison, he encounters an old and frail Brodo and frees him as well. In return, Brodo calls upon the "Ancient Spirits of Good" and transports Lion-O back to his normal world.

Brodo is a powerful wizard with mastery of all kinds of magic and sorcery.

After remining a captive in the Astral Prison for many years, Brodo has become very old, weak and frail.
