Cats' Eyes were invented by the ThunderCats in order to enable them to see in the Jungles of Darkness. This particular location on New Thundera is under the influence of the third moon of Plun-Darr, the same moon where Red-Eye hails from. Because of this, the area is characterized by near zero visibility. The Cats' Eyes goggles help the ThunderCats to keep see clearly in this dangerous location
The Cats' Eyes enable its wearer to see a number of different spectra of light like Infra Red and Ultraviolet. Thus they are extremely useful when navigating through dark areas such as Darkside and Forest of Mists.
