ChildBro is a now defunct toy company that was based in Hong Kong. It was founded in 1989. Apart from manufacturing toys, the company also distributed toys in the Asian market as well.
After running successfully for a span of twelve years, the company was finally dissolved in the year 1991. The name of the company in Chinese is 兒寶玩具有限公司 which translates to "Children Bao Toys Limited".
ChildBro specialized in producing a wide variety of mostly action and sports toys such as action figures, sports bats, cars, paddle and ball, etc. The headquarters was located at Unit 10, 20F., Cheung Fung Ind. Building 23-39 Pak Tin Par Street, Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong.
In the early 1980s, they were licensed by LJN to distribute the ThunderCats toys in various parts of Asia.
Some of the ChildBro ThunderCats' packaging and backing cards also featured the logo of the "Otto Simon" company. The text on such cards and boxes was printed in English as well as German. This was because some of the Otto Simon ThunderCats toys were re-packaged and distributed by ChildBro.
While ChildBro were tasked with mostly distributing the LJN ThunderCats toys, they did occasionally manufacture some of toys in their own factories. As a result there were some obvious differences in the toys made by them and those made by LJN such as:
