Crabmen are a species of humanoid crabs who inhabit the beaches and bodies of water of Third Earth. Armed with huge powerful crushing claws on each hand, these anthropomorphic crustaceans are extremely territorial and will attack anyone one who ventures into their territory without question of reason. The ThunderCats often cross paths with the Crabmen but the limited intelligence of the crustaceans allows the Cats to easily defeat them.

Panthro was the first ThunderCat to run into a Crabman when the ThunderCats were searching different corners of the planet for their lost Time Capsule. The Crabman snapped one of Panthro's Nunchucks like it was a twig. Instead of fighting, Panthro chose to flee in the ThunderTank.

It is then Cheetara who encounters a Crabman briefly while she is searching for WilyKit and WilyKat after they run away from Cats Lair. She doesn't waste time trying to fight the creature, instead she just dizzies it with her super speed.

Lion-O is the final ThunderCat to meet not one but two Crabmen during his first Anointment Trial. He too manages to outwit them and proceed on his journey unharmed.
