Dobo is the Pit Master of the gladiatorial arena, the Pit located in the City of Dogs.
This humanoid Doberman Pinscher used to be a thief. When he was caught, he was incarcerated alongside Panthro who at that time was arrested as a prisoner of war. Finding the idea of a dog and cat paired up together amusing, Dobo was paired up with Panthro to fight other slaves and prisoners in the Pit.
The two won all their fights and were unbeatable, until one night, Panthro escaped, leaving Dobo behind. Feeling betrayed an angry, Dobo continued fighting until he eventually earned his freedom and took command of the Pit as the new Pit Master, the only slave to do so.
When the ThunderCats stop at the City of Dogs for supplies, a poster of Pumyra leads them to the Pit where they run into Dobo. When Lion-O demands that he release her, Dobo refuses, stating that she can earn her freedom after winning a hundred fights.
When Lion-O tries to break Pumyra out of the prison, he is caught and Dobo confiscated the Sword of Omens as well as the Gauntlet of Omens, forcing him to fight Pumyra for his freedom. During the fight, Panthro reveals to Dobo that he only deserted him because he learned that he was to have a death match with Dobo the next day and so chose to escape rather than kill his friend in battle.
When Pumyra is unable to finish off Lion-O, Dobo states that the penalty for forfeit is death. The crowd then chants for Dobo to spare her and Lion-O and he relents granting the two their freedom.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Dobo's name is derived from the Doberman breed of dog, the same breed that his character's design is based on.
- Dobo shares an uncanny resemblance to the character known as the "Doberlord", featured in the ThunderCats Wildstorm Comics published Dogs of War 5 part comic series.
- Dobo also appears to be somewhat similar in appearance to the original 1980s series character known as the Demolisher. Just like Dobo, the Demolisher was also a fierce warrior.
