Emrick is a member of the Third Earth race of tiny flower-like beings known as Petalars whose entire existence lasts just one day.
Like all Petalars, Emrick's life started as a seedling which within a matter of hours, had grown into a young child. It was at this time that the ThunderCats, running from the Lizards, stumble upon the Petalars' settlement. While all the other Petalars are initially fearful of these new intruders, Emrick, full of child-like innocence and curiosity, starts pelting Lion-O with a series of questions. This breaks the ice between the two species and they quickly become friends.
The Petalars tell the ThunderCats how a powerful gust of wind blew them from their home paradise the Garden and deposited them in Briar Woods where they have remained trapped since. Lion-O promises to help them reach the fabled Cliffs of Wind from whee the winds would carry them back to their original home.
As the two species embark on their journey, Emrick grows at an accelerated rate, going from a child to a rebellious teenager, to an adult,to an old man and finally dying. As Lion-O apologizes to a dying Emrick for not leading him to the Garden, the Petalar tells him that it is the journey that matters more than the destination.
Strengths[]
Emrick is very brave and courageous. He first single-handedly fights with and frees himself from the talons of a Three-Eyed Bird that tries to snatch him. Later he leads the charge of the Petalars against the Lizards, helping the ThunderCats defeat them.
Weaknesses[]
Like all the other Petalars, Emrick is also very fragile in nature and does not possess any considerable physical strength.
Weapons and Equipment[]
While not really an effective weapon, Emrick wields a tiny sword made from a long thin thorn, which is inspired from the Sword of Omens.
The Petalars true weapon is their ability to overwhelm an opponent by turning themselves into a glowing golden mist and flying straight into their enemies.
