Enflamer (sometimes spelled Inflamer) is a unique Third Earth being who is born of fire and heat. When fully powered, the Enflamer is a fearsome sight. His huge body glows a yellowish gold and he is covered by burning red fire. He lives deep inside a volcano on Third Earth.

As part of his evil scheme, Mumm-Ra, taking on the guise of an unassuming Troll tricks Lion-O and Tygra into fighting each other. This act unleashes the Curse of Balthaz which breaks the Sword of Omens in two, rendering it useless. Since the Enflamer is the only one who has the power to reforge the sword using Star Fire from his volcano, Mumm-Ra had already sent the Mutants beforehand to attack him and drain his strength.

The ThunderCats then re-energize the Enflamer by providing him with a pit of molten gold. Instead of showing gratitude, the Enflamer attacks the ThunderCats, showering them with fireballs. He does however repair the sword but refuses to hand it over the Lion-O until the later calls it to his hands. Enraged by this, the Enflamer blows up his entire volcano.

Later on, Mumm-Ra creates a vision of the Enflamer to thwart Lion-O as the young leader makes his way through the Black Pyramid for his fifth and final Anointment Trial.

Strengths

The Enflamer has complete control over fire and draws his strength from it. That is why he is able to survive in temperatures that no ordinary living creature can tolerate. When he is at full strength, the Enflamer is a formidable opponent.

Weaknesses

Every time the Enflamer uses his fire to attack an opponent, he loses some of his strength. When he uses up all of his fiery power he becomes extremely weak and even his color changes to pale white. Since only gold can restore his power, he is overly reliant on the substance.

Weapons & Equipment

The Enflamer does not carry any weapons, preferring instead to generate and shoot fireball projectiles at his opponents.
