Hachiman is a samurai who featured in several episodes. He hails from the Planet of the Red Sun and was originally summoned to Third Earth by Mumm-Ra and tricked into fighting Lion-O. Mumm-Ra convinced the samurai that the Thundercats were evil and Hachiman, bound by the code of "Bushido", took it upon himself to defeat Lion-O. However, after Hachiman and Lion-O met, he discovered that he had been played by Mumm-Ra and from that day on, he became a loyal friend and ally of the Thundercats. He also has a great uncle known as Nishida

Strengths

Hachiman is an extremely skilled swordsman as well as very fit physically. He abides strictly by the code of Bushido and so rejects all luxuries and conveniences, choosing instead to do everything on his own. 

Weaknesses

Hachiman has a very short temper and gets angry quickly at even the slightest problem. He also sometimes tends to be a bit arrogant and overconfident in his own abilities. This attitude of his makes him susceptible to be manipulated, as was the case when Mumm-Ra tricked him twice into attacking Lion-O.

Weapons

Hachiman wields the powerful katana sword called the Thunder-Cutter. It is almost as powerful as the Sword of Omens and capable of cutting through the toughest of materials. Hachiman sometimes rides around on his robotic steed, Doji-Kage. He also wears the helmet and armor of the samurai.
