Lion-O is the main protagonist in the ThunderCats Roar cartoon series. He is the leader of the ThunderCats.
He hails from the planet Thundera. He along with his fellow ThunderCats fled the planet just moments before its destruction. The Flagship that they were travelling in was attacked and damaged by the Mutants, forcing the ThunderCats to crash land on Third Earth.
Lion-O is very impetuous and immature. He rushes into action impulsively without thinking about the consequences.

As the Lord of the ThunderCats, Lion-O wields the mystical Sword of Omens. Even though he doesn't understand the full extent of the sword's powers, he still manages to be able to use it to his advantage.
After landing on Third Earth, Lion-O obtains the Claw Shield from Snarf who coughs it up. The Claw Shield can serve as a grappling hook to allow Lion-O to scale great heights.
