The "Welsh Publishing Group", which was well known for making magazines based on popular children's characters and shows, also published issues of the ThunderCats Magazines. A total of six magazines were published from 1987 until 1988.
The magazines contained various information about ThunderCats presented in a "magazine format", including Lion-O's Roar column, Letters to the Lair, Eye on Earth, Mini Comics, and a series of puzzles entitled "Cat's Challenge". Every issue also included a wall poster of the THunderCats characters.
