Masaki Iizuka was a Japanese producer and director who was the production manager of the Japanese animation company known as "Pacific Animation Corporation (PAC)". He served as production in-charge on the "ThunderCats" animated TV show.
Rankin/Bass had all of their stop motion animated movies produced in Japan by PAC. That is how Iizuka became acquainted with Arthur Rankin Jr and Jules Bass. Their collaboration lasted many years as they worked on a number of animated shows and movies.
Iizuka oversaw the production of many of the Rankin/Bass stop-motion TV movies as well as their 2D cel-animated TV shows like ThunderCats and SilverHawks.
