Thundercats Wiki

Prank Call is an episode from ThunderCats Roar, which originally aired on February 29, 2020.

Official Summary[]

Lion-O wants to prove to the ThunderKittens that he's not just some boring old adult, like Tygra, even if it means ignoring his instincts and messing with an obviously evil crystal.

Story[]

One fine morning inside the Cats Lair, the ThunderCats are watching TV. Finding the TV show to be boring, WilyKit and WilyKat decide to go out and explore their new home planet. Tygra however, insists that Lion-O join them as a chaperone, to keep them out of any danger. The Kittens balk at the idea of having a "boring adult" join them, but Lion-O insists that he will be a cool chaperone.

After surfing the Jade Lagoon and swinging across the Bottomless Gorge, Lion-O, WilyKit and WilyKat come across some ancient ruins. Despite the "Danger" warning sign on the doorway, the trio enter the ruins anyway and come across a massive green glowing crystal. They soon discover that the crystal allows them to make phone calls to Mumm-Ra. The three ThunderCats , pretending to be evil plumber, make a prank call to Mumm-Ra, tricking him into unscrewing the legs of his magic cauldron.

Mumm-Ra quickly figures out what is going on and teleports to the Cats' location from his pyramid via the Evil Crystal. He then proceeds to absorb evil energy from the crystal to restore his evil powers and transform into his ever-living self. He flings WilyKit and WilyKat into the crystal before making off with it and flying to his pyramid.

Inside Cats Lair, Panthro notices a large electrical build-up centered on Mumm-Ra's pyramid. Fearing that it could destroy Third Earth, Panthro, Tygra and Cheetara head to the pyramid in the ThunderTank. At the pyramid, Mumm-Ra easily turns the three ThunderCats into stone, thanks to his new found powers. He then flings Lion-O and Snarf into the crystal, to join the ThunderKittens.

In the unknown location where the crystal teleported them, Lion-O and Snarf meet up with the ThunderKittens, who have found the crystal's user manual. Using the information contained within the manual, The foursome are able to teleport back to Mumm-Ra's pyramid. Lion-O then instructs the crystal to remove Mumm-Ra's evil powers and turn Panthro, Cheetara and Tygra back to their normal selves. The ThunderCats then battle Mumm-Ra and Lion-O shatters the evil crystal with the Sword of Omens. With Mumm-Ra defeated, the victorious heroes return home in the ThunderTank.
