Pumyra was one of the three refugees that escaped the destruction of Thundera with the assistance of a Berbil spacecraft, and she ended up on an island with fellow refugees Bengali and Lynx-O. After being rescued from the Berserkers and proving herself in battle, she was made a full-fledged ThunderCat. She lives at the Tower of Omens with Lynx-O, Bengali and Snarfer. It was alluded to in the series that Pumyra was a healer on Old Thundera. She is known for her ability to leap great distances and heights. She most often flies in one of the side pods of the Thunderstrike. She was left to guard Cat's Lair when the other ThunderCats returned to New Thundera.

Her weapon of choice was a sling which she used to fling various pellets at enemies, similar to WilyKit and WilyKat.
