Ratilla the Terrible was a Mutant military commander long ago, before the destruction of Old Thundera. Back then when Jaga was a young warrior and Lion-O was still just a baby, this tyrannical warlord was a formidable threat to the ThunderCats.
A long time ago, Ratilla, armed with the mighty Sword of Plun-Darr, attacked Thundera. During the attack he broke in to the ThunderCats' Royal Palace to steal the Treasure of Thundera, hoping that it will allow him to rule the planet. Fortunately, Jaga arrived in time and he and Ratilla engaged in a fierce combat. Jaga was eventually able to disarm Ratilla and freeze him with the help of the Sword of Omens, which he wielded at the time. Jaga then exiled Ratilla and cast the Sword of Plun-Darr into the deepest canyons on Thundera. This would eventually lead to the destruction of the planet.
Ratar-O, the vicious Mutant, is a direct descendant of Ratilla. Just like his ancestor, whom he resembles in appearance, Ratar-O is also a very vicious and power hungry military leader.
