Ravage Island is a small islet found on Third Earth. A rocky, barren and uninhabited place, the island has a huge Beacon on it. When special hypnotic crystals are placed into the Beacon, it is capable of emitting powerful mesmeric rays that can travel long distances and hypnotize any person who sets eyes on them. The only beings immune to the effects of these rays are Snarfs, Mumm-Ra and Lynx-O because of his blindness.
With the assistance of the Mutants, Mumm-Ra was able to find the crystals and use the Beacon to entrance and capture most of the ThunderCats. Eventually it is Lynx-O, Snarf and Snarfer who manage to destroy the Beacon and rescue their fellow teammates.
