Sir Bedivere was one of the knights of King Arthur. He was a loyal follower and always obeyed his king's orders. After King Arthur's reign had come to an end, he instructed Sir Bedivere to cast the powerful sword Excalibur to the Lady of the Lake. Sir Bedivere complied and threw the sword to the Lady of the Lake who took it with her underwater, where it rests until called upon again.
When Mumm-Ra learns of Excalibur from the Ancient Spirits of Evil, he takes on the form of King Arthur and retrieves Excalibur in order to use it against the ThunderCats.
