Snarf is a furry cat-like creature who serves as a pet to Lion-O. This small feline has lived in the palace of Thundera since Lion-O was a baby and as such has become very attached to the young prince over the years.
Despite his inability to speak, Snarf is able to convey his thoughts via a series of purrs and gestures which Lion-O seems to comprehend perfectly. Snarf is very protective of Lion-O and often tries to prevent him from doing something dangerous but usually fails.
While this mahogany colored fur-ball would like nothing more than to spend his time lounging about, he is quick to jump into action whenever Lion-O is in trouble.

- While the 1980s version of Snarf could speak, this 2011 incarnation is unable to do so.
- A ThunderCats Short was released starring Snarf titled "Snarf: Butterfly Blues"
- Director Dan Norton mentioned that if there had been a second season of ThunderCats 2011 it would have shown how Mumm-Ra had a hand in the creation of the Snarfs.
