Mumm-Ra intends to destroy Third Earth and from its ashes will rise Fourth Earth, of which he will be supreme ruler. The planet begins to tear itself apart and the ThunderCats have no idea what is happening until Jaga appears and tells Lion-O of Mumm-Ra's plan. The solution is not simple - the ThunderCats have to create a map of Third Earth to replace the one being destroyed by Mumm-ra and Jaga will psychically bond the individual maps into one mystic whole to save the planet. The ThunderCats head off in different directions, wondering if they will ever see each other again. Panthro, Snarf and Wilykit find themselves at the Bridge of Light, which seems to be fading away. A unicorn tells Panthro the reason why this has happened - the diamonds used to give the bridge its light were lost in an earth tremor. They try to cross what is left of the bridge, only for the ThunderTank to get stuck halfway across. Getting the others to safety, Panthro loses his balance and falls into the River of Despair. The current is about to pull him under when he is pulled out by a Rockman, who has already captured Wilykit and Snarf.
