Written by Steve Perry

Our adventure begins with Mumm-Ra at his magic cauldron, witnessing the hatching of Spidera, a gigantic new queen for the Kingdom of Webs. He calls on Nemesis to tell him how he can use this against the ThunderCats and transforms into the diminutive and innocent Diamondfly. Shortly, Lion-O is awoken from his slumber in the woods by the warning of the Eye of Thundera. Before he can react, he is hypnotised by the colourful lights of Diamondfly who asks him for help. Snarf is also looking for the Lord of the ThunderCats as he is late for his dinner. Snarf finds the abandoned Sword of Omens and gives chase. As he catches up, Snarf is able to withstand Diamondfly’s mind control but is instead dragged underground by a giant spider. His cries for help awaken Lion-O who uses the sword to see through Mumm-Ra’s deception. With Mumm-Ra’s triumphant laughter ringing in his ears, Lion-O dives into the Kingdom of Webs in pursuit of Snarf. His old nursemaid, however, is already trapped in Spidera’s web...
