Story[]
Pummm-Ra, part 2 of 2:[]
Written by Laura Hitchcock
Art by Ernie Colon, Al Williamson, Rick Parker & Petra Scotese
The story resumes with Pumm-Ra attempting to use the Sword of Omens. The waiting Mutants see the resulting light and race to take control of Cat’s Lair. The ThunderCats also see it and, sensing that something is terribly wrong, also race to the Lair. The sword rips itself from Pumm-Ra’s grasp, sensing his evil! Just as Lion-O reclaims the sword, the Mutants attack him in the Thundertank. With the help of the other ThunderCats, they are driven off but Pumm-Ra has locked himself inside the Lair. Despite Lion-O’s objections, Tygra, as architect of Cats’ Lair, enters the building through the power exhaust. Seconds after he gets safely inside, Pumm-Ra activates the Lair’s defences. Cheetara and Panthro distract them, allowing Lion-O to short-circuit the Lair and open the doors. Inside the control room, a fight between Pumm-Ra and Tygra is interrupted by the arrival of the other ThunderCats. At this point, Mumm-Ra finally casts off his disguise and retreats. The ThunderCats have learnt that trust must be earned...
