Story[]
Country of the Blind, part 2 of 2:[]
Written by Steve Alan
Dougie Braithwaite, Stephen Baskerville, Bambos & Euan Peters
The story resumes with Breeze sending Lynx-O on a quest to the Spring of Acheron. It is reputed to have healing waters that will end the blindness of the Jivarrn but is guarded by the Tongue-a-Saurus. The ThunderCat reaches the spring after a surprisingly easy journey but is distraught when the waters do not cure his blindness. He realises that it is because his eyes were burnt during the destruction of Thundera, not by gases like his new Jivarrn friends. No sooner has he realised than the Tongue-a-Saurus attacks. Lynx-O uses his sonic sounds to frighten it off but this causes a rockslide, burying the spring.
He returns with a single vile of water, enough to restore sight to Breeze. But Lion-O is also there, still blind himself. He asks Lynx-O to return to the surface and become Lord of the ThunderCats. Lynx-O agrees but when they reach Cats’ Lair, Cheetara is rejoicing as her sight has returned, the blindness only temporary. Lion-O tells Lynx-O that he would understand if he wished to return to the Jivarrn but the old man doesn’t. Since Breeze can see, she no longer needs him, he says.
A Day Out for Bengali:[]
Written by Dan Abnett
Having been told about the beauty of the Bridge of Light by Panthro, Bengali has set off alone to see it. He is attacked by an enormous Rockman called Crag who is guarding it. After being chased into the Unicorn Forest, Bengali comes across one of the animals, trapped. He frees it but they are about to be attacked by a Gorgon when Crag arrives and hits is with his enormous club. The Rockman then remembers that he had been ordered not to leave the bridge so the unicorn tells him and Bengali to climb on its back and returns them to their respective homes.
