The Wollos are a race of Third Earth beings. They have a short stature and are very gentle, pacifistic, and soft-spoken. They live in a settlement of houses known as the Wollo Village. They are mainly farmers and fishermen and own a number of fishing boats which are kept near the coast. They have almost no access to technology and hence lead very simple lives and travel on Donkeys.

Due to their gentle nature, they are often exploited by sinister beings such as the Tabbuts, who forcefully collect rent from them. They are also the victims of thieves like the Gargoyles employed by Baron Karnor, who steal whatever little valuables they have.

After the arrival of the ThunderCats and the Mutants on Third Earth, the Wollos problems escalated, as they often find themselves caught in the battle between these two alien races. The Mutants never hesitate to terrorize these peaceful people, even if it is just for fun. Once when Grune the destroyer was freed from his tomb, he demolished the Wollo Village. At other times, the Lunataks kidnapped some of the Wollos and forced them to build their fortress Sky-Tomb. However, the ThunderCats have always been there to save and protect the Wollos from these villains. For this reason, the Wollos trust the ThunderCats and often turn to them for help.
